OUR CAREGIVERS
The people you’re really hiring us for.
Anyone can hire caregivers. What makes Golden Rule different is who we say no to, and how carefully we match the ones we say yes to.
OUR SELECTION PHILOSOPHY
Most caregivers come to us by word of mouth from our current team of caregivers.
We screen for two things equally: skill, and character. Every caregiver completes a background check, reference verification, in-person interview, and hands-on skills assessment before they’re matched to a single client.
Then we go a step further by matching personality, not just schedule. A caregiver who loves music is matched with the client who plays piano. A quiet, steady presence is matched with a client who wants company without a lot of chatter. It’s a small thing that changes everything.

EVERY CAREGIVER IS
- Background-checked & insured
- Reference-verified
- Trained on our C.H.E.R.I.S.H.E.D. values
- Home Health Aide (HHA) Certified, with an average of 10+ years of caregiving experience
- Personality-matched to each client
- Supervised with ongoing care-plan check-ins
- Backed by our 24/7 on-call office team
WHO SHOWS UP AT YOUR DOOR
A team, not a rotating cast of strangers.
Most of our caregivers have been with us for years, not weeks. Many came to caregiving the same way our founders did: they cared for a parent or grandparent first, and realized partway through that this was the work they wanted to keep doing. That background shows up in small ways every single visit, in the patience for a slow morning, the instinct to notice when something’s off, and the plain comfort of someone who has done this before and isn’t rattled by it.
Every caregiver is matched to a client on more than availability. We look at personality, pace, and shared interests, because a good match is what turns a scheduled visit into a relationship your loved one actually looks forward to.
Caregivers are introduced on the very first visit.
Every plan starts with a free in-home assessment. Then caregivers are introduced by office staff on the very first visit to ensure a smooth start.
COMMON QUESTIONS
What qualifications do Golden Rule caregivers have?
Our caregivers are trained Home Health Aides (HHAs) who pass background checks before joining our team of more than 90 caregivers serving Central Massachusetts.
Will we have the same caregiver every visit?
We prioritize consistency and try to match each family with a small, stable team of caregivers rather than rotating strangers through the home, so trust and routine can build over time.
