Parkinson’s Support Care Plan
A specialty care plan built around the day-to-day realities of Parkinson’s: unpredictable mobility, tremor, and the fall risk that comes with both.
Parkinson’s rarely moves in a straight line. Good days and hard days can happen in the same week, sometimes the same afternoon. A Golden Rule caregiver trained in Parkinson’s support adjusts to that rhythm, staying close during the moments that matter most, like transfers, walking, and medication timing, without taking away the independence your loved one still has.
IMPORTANT: NON-MEDICAL SUPPORT
Golden Rule Home Care provides non-medical support only. We do not diagnose, treat, or manage medical conditions, and we do not replace a physician, nurse, or emergency provider. Our caregivers can help with medication reminders, watch for changes or symptoms that matter, and report them promptly to your family and, when appropriate, your loved one’s medical team.
WHO THIS PLAN IS FOR
Families caring for someone with Parkinson’s disease who is experiencing tremor, rigidity, slowed movement, or freezing episodes, and who needs a steady, familiar caregiver rather than a rotating cast of helpers.
CARE FOCUS
- Fall-risk supervision during transfers, walking, and standing
- Medication reminders timed to a Parkinson’s dosing schedule
- Observation of tremor, rigidity, freezing episodes, or balance changes, with reporting to family
- Assistance with dressing, buttons, and fine-motor tasks that become harder to manage
- Encouragement and support with prescribed exercise or mobility routines
- Meal support for swallowing difficulty or slowed eating
- Calm, patient pacing that reduces frustration and anxiety
- Consistent caregiver assignment for familiarity and routine

FREQUENTLY ASKED
Can a caregiver help with Parkinson’s medication timing?
Yes. Caregivers can provide medication reminders and help keep dosing on schedule, which matters a great deal with Parkinson’s. Caregivers do not prescribe, adjust, or administer medication as a clinical task; any changes in symptoms or medication effectiveness are reported to the family and care team.
Is this medical care?
No. This is non-medical in-home support. Caregivers observe symptoms like tremor, freezing, or balance changes and report them promptly, but diagnosis and treatment remain with your loved one’s physician or neurologist.

COMMON QUESTIONS
What makes Parkinson’s care different from general home care?
Parkinson’s care requires caregivers who understand tremors, rigidity, and mobility changes, and who can adapt their approach as symptoms fluctuate throughout the day.
Can caregivers help manage a Parkinson’s medication schedule?
Yes. Because timing is especially important with Parkinson’s medications, caregivers help keep clients on a consistent schedule and communicate any changes to family and the care team.
